America Poem by Allen Ginsberg


     Allen Ginsberg was born in Newark, New Jersey and in a Jewish family. In the 1950s it became a prominent figure in the movement called San Francisco Renaissance and beat. The “beat generation” refers to a group of writers from U.S.A. In 50 years they characterized by the rejection to them values U.S. classic, the use of the drug, a great sexual freedom and the study of the philosophy Eastern.

     Analysis literary of the America Poem the movement literary which belonged to Allen Ginsberg was the Modernism English, since he used the verse free in their poems and the poem, "America", it shows a irregular metric, the first stanza has got sixteen lines, the second and third have got twelve, the fourth and the fifth have got ten and this structure was a seal distinctive of the Ginsberg´s poetry.

     On the other hand, In the poem the autor mixes several topics with little relationship between themselves, such as in the jazz. Ginsberg not looking for narrative or beauty, but the spontaneity, the human expression, and his reaction. The poem is full of cultural and political references, as well as references to incidents and events in Ginsberg's life, and the lives of his friends. The first stanza of the poem is something like an introduction that sets the time and the context for the poem.
